The Coffee Ride

I am not sure why there are a lot of new coffee shops that sprouted near my place (Angono) but most probably it was a trend that started in the pandemic wherein people from Manila searched for nearer places to enjoy the night or weekend as there were stringent travel requirement then. And Antipolo and Angono having mountain views found out that putting a coffee shop with a grand view brings in the money.

For us cyclist, given the climbs and the nice ending, it eventually became popular to also visit these destinations as part of short rides considering its proximity to the new popular routes that were opened also recently like the Quarry Road in Binangonan (and all peripheral roads that converge to the quarry road), Franciso Botong road, Guido St, and the Mahabang Parang and Sitio Labahan in Angono while some links to the older biking destinations like the San Carlos hills in Binangonan.

Above is a map of these popular coffee shops where in you can create several possible routes. Its proximity to Manila makes it a good place for a short quick ride. Besides this map itself, you can extend it further as there are also popular coffee shops in Antipolo. You can also add the other destinations in Binangonan, like as mentioned, quarry road or the paraglide site in Binangonan also known as Mahabang Parang (not to be confused with the Mahabang Parang of Angono- Don Mariano Avenue) where coffee shops has also sprouted.

But please moderate your drinking, we don’t want a bunch of nervous cyclists on the road.
